Restive Pitchfork Brigades March On Wall Street: A Snapshot Of Pre-Revolutionary America

Check out the latter-day Marie Antoinettes and their male consorts laughing and snapping pictures of the demonstrators below them, as if they were watching animals at the zoo or being entertained in the court of Louis XVI by exotic 'savages' from faraway colonies, who shouted back at them, "pay your fair share!" That's the kind of bumper sticker rallying cry at least 80 percent of Americans would support in every poll on taxing the rich. Even President Obama ... Oh the Humanity!

The event was organized by a social networking site called "Occupy Wall Street." The protesters claim that they are “the 99 percent that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1 percent.” The protest is ongoing at least through Monday and could conceivably swell its ranks. Wouldn't that be a hoot!
