Mr. Grammar Person

One of the Republican talking points for years has always been to refer to "the DEMOCRAT party" rather than the DEMOCRATIC party. First of all, "Democrat" is a noun and not an adjective. beyond that though, it is a Frank Lunz -Newt Gingrich trick to 1) deny our approach is democratic and to 2) rhyme with "rat." Now of course the president wouldn't stoop to such a level, would he?
Yesterday, the people went to the polls and they cast their vote for a new direction in the House of Representatives. And while the ballots are still being counted in the Senate, it is clear the Democrat Party had a good night last night, and I congratulate them on their victories.
Oh, never mind.

Perhaps he was refering to the Democrat's party? I'm sure they had a great night!

You would think he could use the Google to look this stuff up on the internets.

INN, this is standard repub practice. ALL of them do it, they think they are so clever.

Yeah I know. I think it irks them that the United States is commonly refered to as a democracy which employs a democratic process. Too much name association with the Democrats. They'd rather we be refered to more often as a republic so they can get more name association time.

The modern political word twist technique has been perfected by the likes of Rush Limbaugh. You need to be clever to do it properly, unlike Bush, Hannity, Coulter etc. who come off sounding illiterate.

That man has called us treasonous; he's called us traitors. He's said we're not patriots. He's called us terrorists. Murderers!

It's a lot to expect that he is going to call us by the name we want.

But there are some names he will get right.

"Madam Speaker Pelosi."
"Chairman Conyers."
"Chairman Waxman."

After that, there will be other titles to get straight.

"Your Honor."
"Warden."

And I'm sure the cellmate who will be tatooing the swastika on his ass cheeks with a cigarette will have a title he likes, too. Little Shrub will get that title right for sure, or his next shower might not be all that relaxing.

Yeah, and the neo-cons have done it so well that people like Susan Petrarca of Lemont, Illinois (Dumbass) are in tears thinking she'll need to wear a burka to hide her kids under so the terrorists don't torture them.

I contend that the Republican party started their exit from politics in the early Reagan years and what has moved in to take their place, what you all call "neo-cons", are on the verge of fascism. No, that's too easy. They are forming their own style of corporate sponsored dictatorship. The companies they've formed to run non-US functions in Iraq and elsewhere, the covert operations within the US, the changes to our fundamental rights and challenges to our Constitution have all been carefully crafted to achieve their goals.

The few remaining Republicans that actually abide by a conservative credo are scared to speak up. They can no longer practice politics as they believe it should be. Instead we get pedophiles, criminals, liars and Katherine Harris and are told to call them "Republicans". :^(
