Brown Named as Cubs GM

Cubs Name New GM
Ex-FEMA Chief to Head Ballclub

The Chicago Cubs announced today that they have named ex-FEMA head Michael Brown to be the team's new general manager. "Competence, quality, dependability, hard work and accountability are what the Chicago Cubs stand for," said team president Andy McPhail, "and that is what Mike Brown is all about."

Brown, pictured here with often-injured Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood, is eager to start work for the Cubs. His first assignment will be the annual baseball winter meetings in Dallas beginning December 5. He plans to arrive at the meetings by mid-January.
